Apparently I am a Farmer's Daughter...Who woulda thought???

We re-landscaped our front yard this spring and we loved the changes we had made.  About 2 weeks after all of the spring planting was completed I noticed a large leafy plant growing in one of my new beds.  Much to my surprise we were growing pumpkins.  Last year Sophia had picked a small pumpkin at the pumpkin patch and we had put it on the side of the house when it started to rot.  Jamie was suppose to place it in the trash on trash day.  Guess what......pumpkin never got taken away in the trash and 8 months later........our very own pumpkin patch!
Sophia has loved growing her own "little pumpkins!!!"  We water them every day and watch them grow.  Today we had to go ahead and pick them off of the vine.  Soon they would be starting to rot and wouldn't be very pretty!!  Since we didn't plan on planting pumpkins we had no control of when they grew so we were a little early on our Halloween decorations!  We will get to enjoy our summer pumpkins before we go to the pumpkin patch for our fall pumpkins!

We were a little late on picking one of the pumpkins, we lost it to bacteria and bugs!  Sophia still has two precious pumpkins that she said she was ready to "dig out!" Don't know if Daddy can carve his masterpiece on these mini pumpkins?!

Looks like Sophia will be a farmer like Stanley. Great pics. Good size pumpkins for a 3yr old.
